Employer Counseling and Compliance
We provide advice on the full gamut of employment law issues: hiring, performance management, termination, wage and hour issues, investigations, harassment and/or discrimination claims, other employee complaints, accommodation of disabilities and leaves of absence, workplace violence, performance management, layoffs and reductions in force, employee classification, background investigations, and employment agreements. We also create a personnel policies and employee handbooks for our clients.
Workplace Training Programs
The Campopiano & Poncia Law Offices conducts training on a wide variety of employment law compliance topics including harassment (including compliance with California law AB 1825), avoiding discrimination, accommodating disabilities, complying with leaves of absence laws, managing employee performance, conducting workplace investigations, and interview skills. We will create a tailored training program to meet any company’s needs.
Investigations
An investigation of discrimination, harassment, or other possible wrongdoing in workplace is undertaken to objectively and reliably determine the facts and circumstances of any reported or suspected behavior affecting the interests of the organization or the company. Conducting a thorough investigation can minimize costly litigation and can be used to improve management and identify issues systematically.
Defense of Claims and Litigation
The Campopiano Law Offices defends employers in all state and federal courts and government agencies, including claims brought before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Fair Employment & Housing (DFEH), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Department of Labor (DOL), Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE, or California Labor Commissioner), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement in San Francisco (OLSE) and the Employment Development Department (EDD). We are experienced in all areas of both state and federal employment law, including in claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour law, and breach of contract, in front of all state and federal courts and government agencies.
